Cloud Operations Engineer

Shorr Kan Data Management is looking for a Cloud Operations Engineer to manage the lifecycle of its application services across several data centres.

Responsibilities

  • Create, deploy and maintain cloud solutions using AWS web services and the main on-premise and cloud virtualisation environments;
  • Contribute to the secure and continuous operation of cloud computing, storage and database solutions;
  • Monitor the performance and security of the adopted solutions, ensuring they comply with company standards and market best practices;
  • Produce the technical documentation of the adopted solutions;
  • Monitor resource usage and the related billing;
  • Keep up to date with new cloud services.

Experience

The ideal candidate must have knowledge and experience of the following topics, or demonstrate the ability to develop them independently:

  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft and Linux server operating systems;
  • Creation and maintenance of PaaS/IaaS components of cloud providers, AWS in particular;
  • Knowledge of data storage solutions and of the maintenance of the following databases: MS SQL, Aurora, MySQL/MariaDB;
  • Alignment with development teams to gather requirements, plan activities and suggest innovations to cloud methods and systems;
  • Documentation of infrastructures, and the related assets, throughout the whole lifecycle;
  • Debugging and refactoring of issues, and implementation of the necessary fixes.

Preferred skills

  • AWS certification (AWS Solutions Architect, AWS SysOps Administrator, AWS DevOps Engineer);
  • Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent;
  • No less than 2 years of experience in the required context.

Attention to detail and precision, analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently complete the required profile. The candidate must also demonstrate an active, proactive approach to work.
